Using online storybooks to build comprehension

Lacina and Mathews explain that when instructors allow children to use text tools on multimodal e-books, they tend to improve in reading comprehension by getting help in pronunciation, vocabulary, and narration. These multimodal e-books provide visual displays of words that help students understand vocabulary, repeated text that allows words to be read again, and animation and sound that help them to focus on meaning.
