Te rā ngahau mo te whānau i runga tereina

Tui Gilling and Nikora Wharerau

Te rā ngahau mo te whānau i runga tereina / Whānau fun day on the train.

Immerse yourself in this story about a whānau who take a train trip from Pukekohe to Eden Park in Auckland to watch the Downer NRL Auckland Nines.

Along the way they learn about a number of places in the Auckland region, their original Māori names and why they are of significance to Māori.

The digital book was written in te reo Māori then translated into English, so it is likely to appeal to a wider audience – young and old alike.

It was commissioned by Auckland Transport and launched at the beginning of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), 2015. FREE to download and share.
