Welcome to Puna Ako – a well spring of learning Māori language and protocols.
This app has been developed for Treasury staff who are keen to increase their confidence and knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori – to assist them with their day-to-day mahi and their engagement with the Iwi and Māori organisations.
Interactive features within the app include pronunciation of Māori words, maps with Māori names and iwi groups, values (Ngā Mātāpono), and principles, mihimihi/pepeha (introductions), ngā mihi (greetings), poroporoaki (farewells), whakataukī (proverbs), and waiata (songs).
