Karanga mai, karanga mai, karanga mai rā!
The call goes out!

KIWA has developed an innovative tool kit that is putting cultural intelligence support on to the phones and tablets of workforces throughout New Zealand.

The tool kit enables the development of a customized app that builds awareness, empathy, skill, and confidence when engaging with another language and culture. The app is easy, self-paced, and fun to use – and provides staff with the opportunity to learn about the language and culture wherever suits them, whether at work or in the privacy of their own home.

New Zealand Government technology agency Callaghan Innovation was the first to use the new tool kit, developing a customised application, Te Pou Herenga, that brings Te Ao Māori /the Māori World into their workplaces.

KIWA is now working with many New Zealand businesses, government, and community organisations, see for example on our showcase Auckland Council, Department of Conservation, Work Safe New Zealand, Meridian Energy, Waikato Regional Council, Spark NZ, and Manukau Institute of Technology

Leading the way is Ararau Rangi Air New Zealand, Supreme Award Winner at the Māori Language Awards 2016, whose decade-long programme of integrating te reo Māori and Māori values into workplaces and customer interactions now includes Te Kete Tikanga Māori, their cultural and language app for staff.

We are keen to support your organisation in developing a unique app that supports your cultural strategies in a positive and helpful way.

You will be supported on every step of the journey.
