Building a global digital story telling platform

We’ve been working on something very special here at KIWA; a series of beautiful animated graphic novellas designed for tablets, which re-tell traditional Māori stories in a contemporary digital format.

The final book in the series, Ngā Atua Māori, has just been published on iTunes and Google Play. This represents an exciting development in how publishers reach traditional audiences in New Zealand and internationally.

We celebrated the launch last week and were honoured by the attendance of guest speakers Shane Jones Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development, Marama Fox MP, Kelvin Davis MP, Erima Hēnare Chair of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, and Robyn Kamira, Ngā Pū Waea; as well as Peeni Hēnare MP and leaders across government, community and business.

This was our chance to share our progress in building a global digital story telling platform.
